Raj Yoga Meditation” session

The term Raja Yoga itself comes from Sanskrit—Raja meaning “king” or “royal,” and Yoga meaning “union”—so it’s often translated as “the king of yogas” or the “royal path to union.”

A form of meditation without rituals, mantras, or physical postures.

Unlike Hatha Yoga (physical postures), Kundalini Yoga (energy awakening), or Bhakti Yoga (devotional practices), Raj Yoga Meditation is mainly about mental connection and self-awareness—no rituals, chanting, or physical strain.

Example

1 . Prepare (30 sec)

• Sit comfortably with your back straight.

• Rest your hands on your lap.

• Keep your eyes gently open or half-closed.

• Take a slow breath in … and out …

2. Withdraw (1 min)

• Say silently:

“I am not just this body, this role, or this personality. I am a soul — a conscious point of light, full of awareness.”

• Visualize yourself as a tiny shining star of energy at the center of your forehead.

• Feel yourself separate from thoughts, roles, and responsibilities.

3. Connect (2 min)

• Imagine an infinite field of energy surrounding you — calm, luminous, and boundless.

• This is the universal source of peace, clarity, and strength.

• Silently affirm:

“I am part of this vast energy. Peace flows through me. Clarity fills me. Strength empowers me.”

• Let yourself merge with this universal flow, as if you are being gently recharged.

4. Absorb (1 min)

• Allow qualities like peace, love, and stability to fill your mind.

• Feel yourself becoming lighter, calmer, and more centered.

• Simply be present in this awareness.

5. Return (30 sec)

• Slowly bring your awareness back to the room.

• Gently notice your body, your breath, your surroundings.

• Carry this calm state with you into the rest of your day.
