May: Walking 100 Miles NDCS

May became a month of determination, community and making every step count as Janet took on the challenge of walking 100 miles throughout the month to raise awareness and funds for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS).

Across the beautiful Cumbrian landscape, every mile represented more than just a distance walked — it represented support, inclusion and the belief that deaf children and young people should have every opportunity to thrive.

From village roads to countryside paths, the challenge brought together the love of walking, wellbeing and raising awareness for a cause close to Janet’s heart. The journey included early mornings, changing weather, tired legs and plenty of moments where the encouragement from others helped keep the miles moving.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, dancers, walkers and the wider community, the challenge raised an amazing £472 for NDCS.

Every donation helped turn those 100 miles into something much bigger — a message that deaf children deserve support, understanding and equal opportunities.
