Service Description
A circular walk through the beautiful village of Bootle. From Alexander House Community Hub, which has a small carpark, toilets, waiting area if raining. We will walk up to the corner of Chapel Lane passing the 18th century Chapel (now an Evangelical Church) and Main Street (A595). And turn left to go down Main Street passing Captain Shaws Primary School, the pavement is only one person wide from here till we arrive at the village carpark opposite the Medieval St Micheal and All Angels Church. If you look to the right at this point you will see the grade two listed village cross, here there are public toilets and a bench if needed. We will proceed left down Church Lane past the cemetery, it is pathed except for approx.100 meters of grass or road walk, to the bench that looks down towards Bootle Station. From here we will walk back up Chapel Lane slight incline, towards main street. Talking a detour down the lane at the surgery which is a gravelled path (shared use for vehicles going to farms), here you can see green fields and a lovely view of Black Combe as well as cows, sheep, and rabbits returning via the same path we will continue the circuit, back to Alexander House Community Hub where there is a coffee machine and a place to sit and chat about our walk etc. There are approximately four benches on route, and the route is relatively flat, with no gates or styes and will take approx. 45 minutes.
