š« Did you know your lungs like ballroom dancing?

Most people think ballroom dancing is all about the feet.
But your lungs are joining in too.
Every Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Cha Cha asks your lungs to work a little harder, bringing oxygen into your body and delivering it to the muscles that keep you moving across the floor.
The more regularly you dance, the more efficiently your body learns to use that oxygen.
Your lungs love:
š Moving regularly.
š Standing with good posture.
š Deep, relaxed breathing.
š Fresh air.
š A smoke-free lifestyle.

One of the things I love about ballroom dancing is that it naturally encourages many of these.
When you lengthen your spine and lift through your body, your chest has more room to expand. When you move smoothly around the floor, your breathing finds its own rhythm. As your fitness improves, you may notice youāre dancing for longer without becoming quite so breathless.
Itās not about having the biggest lungs.
Itās about using them well.
So next time you step onto the dance floor, rememberā¦
Every graceful step is helping your lungs do what they were designed to doākeep you moving.
Your feet may be dancingā¦
But your lungs are enjoying every minute of it. š«šššŗ
Do you remember the first dance when you realised you werenāt getting out of breath as quickly? Iād love to hear your story.
