Paso Doble Is Not Just About Big Steps.

Many dancers think the secret to a powerful Paso Doble is simply to take larger steps.

More travel.

More reach.

More drama.

But bigger doesn’t automatically mean better.

In Paso Doble, power comes from control.

A smaller movement with perfect timing can be more impressive than a huge movement without precision.

Every step needs direction.

Every weight transfer needs purpose.

Every shape needs to be held with confidence.

The dance isn’t powerful because you are constantly moving.

It’s powerful because you know exactly when to move…

And when not to.

That’s what creates the drama.

The pauses.

The stillness.

The sudden changes of direction.

The contrast between strength and control.

We encourage dancers to think beyond simply making movements bigger.

The goal isn’t to take up as much space as possible.

The goal is to make every movement matter.

In Paso Doble, power isn’t about size. It’s about control.
