Stop walking. Start dancing Slow Foxtrot.

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make in Slow Foxtrot is treating it like a walk around the room.

Yes, you’re taking steps.

But Slow Foxtrot is much more than walking.

Every step should have purpose.

Every movement should flow into the next.

Your body should travel smoothly across the floor, creating the feeling of effortless movement.

Instead of thinking about putting one foot in front of the other, think about:

✨ Moving your centre first.

✨ Swinging through the standing leg.

✨ Using controlled rise and fall.

✨ Creating continuous body flight.

✨ Dancing through each step, not to it.

The magic of Slow Foxtrot isn’t found in fast footwork or dramatic figures.

It’s found in the quality of movement.

The world’s best dancers don’t look like they’re walking.

They look like they’re gliding.

So next time you dance, ask yourself:

Am I simply walking… or am I really dancing Slow Foxtrot?
