Argentine Tango

Yesterday in our Facebook group we talked all things Tango

Here is what we discussed on the Argentine Tango.

Argentine Tango is a dance, a music, and sometimes described as whole mood.

It is believed to originate in the late 1800s around the Río de la Plata, mainly in the Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay) in working-class neighborhoods full of immigrants, port workers, and exiles.

It was a melting pot of different cultures and as they collided tango grew out of that mix.

Wedding Dance

Yesterday is spent the day watching a very interesting dance style so that I could add the essence of it into a wedding dance.

Zamba is an Argentinian music genre and a folk dance. The name "zamba" refers to the racial term zambo (people that are descendants of Amerindian and African people).

Zambas are composed about many themes, from those that celebrate people or events of Argentine history, to those that describe the beauty of a region, or of its women.

For me I was watching the enchanting dances that tell stories of love and courtship.

I found this style through its unique movements and music, offers a glimpse into Argentina's soul, and a very different glimpse than tha of the Argentine Tango we mostly consider from this part of the world.
