The Whisk
The Drill for this term will be the Samba Whisk
(A Drill is an repetitive exercise you can use to practice a shape or technique, and builds discipline and stamina )
This is a very simplistic view of the whisk in the four dances we are learning this term
The Whisk is a three-step figure that moves you from closed to promenade or counter promenade position with a foot-crossing action.
The Samba
Timing 1-a-2

This Samba Whisk is bouncy, featuring a quick side step, followed by the foot crossing behind and a return to the original spot, focusing on hip action, bent knees (bounce), and flat-ball-flat footwork.
In the Samba you can also dance
Flat Whisks
Extra Bounce Whisks
Ronda Whisks
The Tango
