Stop trying to learn the whole routine.

Learning choreography can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re watching an entire sequence for the first time.

It’s easy to look around the room and think everyone else has remembered it already.

The truth is, most haven’t.

They’ve simply learned that choreography isn’t remembered all at once.

It’s built, one section at a time.

Focus on mastering a few bars before moving on to the next.

Repeat them until they begin to feel natural, then join the sections together like pieces of a puzzle.

Don’t be discouraged if you forget.

Forgetting is part of learning.

Every time you practise, your brain strengthens those pathways, making the movements easier to recall next time.

Even ten minutes of practice at home can make a remarkable difference.

Walk through the routine in your kitchen.

Visualise the movements while sitting in a chair.

Dance it slowly without the music.

All of these count as practice.

Remember, the dancers who appear to learn choreography quickly aren’t usually gifted with a better memory.

They’ve simply discovered the power of repetition.

So be patient with yourself.

One section.

One repetition.

One improvement at a time.

That’s how confidence is built—and that’s how choreography becomes second nature.
