Rushing.

It’s amazing how many otherwise beautiful dancers hurry through their movements.

They anticipate the next step.

They cut the ends off their figures.

They never quite finish a movement before starting the next.

The result?

The dance looks busy instead of elegant.

Beautiful ballroom dancing isn’t about doing more.

It’s about giving every movement time to breathe.

Complete the step.

Finish the shape.

Hold the balance.

Then move.

The dancers who look effortless aren’t usually moving faster—they’re moving with intention.

The next time you practise, don’t focus on adding speed.

Focus on finishing every movement before beginning the next.

Your dancing will instantly look calmer, more confident, and far more musical.

Have you ever watched a video of yourself and realised you were rushing?
